2015 Chicago Summer Events – Food Edition Part 2
A little more Chicago food for your thoughts. Today we continue our 2015 Chicago Summer Events series with part 2 of our food edition. Last week we covered more of the popular food events hosted around town this summer Read Part 1 Here, but in this series we’re going to dig a little deeper and get more diverse. Chicago is a melting pot of cultures and as a result we get cuisines from all around the world. We encourage visitors of our city to check out all the different neighborhoods and experience all the unique cultures they have to offer.
If you would like to book a room to stay for any of the events listed below, you can book a room here.
About: Try some authentic Mexican food at taste of Mexico. Chicago is home to some of the best Mexican food outside of Mexico (although we feel it might even give Mexico a run for it’s money). This event will showcase Chicago’s best Mexican chefs and even host a contest for the festival’s Top Chef award.

About: This hot dog festival has gotten so popular in recent years that it has expanded to three days. Yes we really like our hot dogs here and yes it’s true we’re very strict about the no ketchup thing. Chicago has perfected the art of the hot dog and this event will provide you with the best hot dogs in the world.
Where: Montrose Beach,
About: This event can be considered more of a beverage event than a food event, but we feel it’s a great lead in to our next post in this series, which is drinking events! This event is particularly cool because it takes place on a beach. Montrose beach is somewhat of a hidden gem. Most tourists will visit north Avenue or Ohio beach, but head a little farther north and Montrose Beach is right there. It’s one of the few times it’s legal to drink on the beach, might as well take advantage of that with a side of bacon.
